Dataverse Project

At this year's Dataverse Community Meeting, Globus co-founder Ian Foster will give a keynote address on "A Global Research Data Platform" on Thursday, June 14 from 3:00-3:45 p.m. Commercial and consumer software has been transformed over the past decade by the emergence of powerful web/cloud platforms that allow for the far more rapid, secure, and scalable deployment of applications than via traditional means. In his talk, Dr. Foster will argue here that we can achieve similar benefits in science via the development of research platform services.

Dr. Foster will also participate in the Big Data Infrastructure Panel Discussion on Thursday, June 14 from 4:15-5:00 p.m.

The Dataverse Community Meeting, hosted by Harvard’s Institute for Quantitative Social Science, welcomes researchers, librarians, publishers, developers and anyone interested in data sharing or building repositories. For more information, visit the event site.
