We'll be presenting and sponsoring a booth at HPCS 2014.

HPCS is a multi-disciplinary conference, considered Canada's premier advanced computing forum. Each year, Canadian researchers, analysts, and IT professionals from academia and industry gather to exchange the ideas, tools, and new discoveries that are driving today's innovations in computational research. This year's program is built around the theme of HPC Serving Society and includes sessions focusing on Bioinformatics, Big Data & Analytics, Computational Materials Science, Ocean & Atmosphere Modelling, Computational Chemistry, Data Cave Visualization, and more.

Abstract for "Campus Data Service Using Globus":

Globus provides software-as-a-service (SaaS) for research data management, including data movement, storage, sharing and publication. In this talk we will describe how to build a secure, scalable campus data service that delivers advanced data management capabilities to researchers while significantly reducing the development, integration, and operations burden on resource providers. Using Globus as an exemplar, we will illustrate why the user experience is critical to making these capabilities accessible to a broad range of users at national research and education institutions, leveraging intuitive web interfaces and hiding access complexities behind a sophisticated federated identity infrastructure. The talk will cover Globus capabilities for transfer and sharing of data that will demonstrate how Globus and the Science DMZ concept may be used to optimize delivery of these services on networks that span campus computing, public cloud, and national supercomputing resources. Previews of data publication capabilities developed as part of Globus will also be presented.
