What's New In Globus
Globus is a widely used platform for research data management among Internet2 members. While many institutions use Globus primarily for reliable file transfer, the platform has evolved to provide a comprehensive set of data management capabilities.
We will describe major enhancements made over the past two years, and demonstrate new features and APIs that support the development of applications in service of research. Topics covered will include the new architecture for Globus Connect Server, support for additional cloud storage systems, services for data search and discovery, and various capabilities for automating large-scale data flows.
Given growing cloud usage among Internet2 members, we will discuss how Globus can support data migration between cloud storage systems, with emphasis on the various security models.
